We work with the Ministry of Health, at national, district and facility level to ensure rural women have access to high quality health services within their communities. Where there is a government facility, such as a health centre or district hospital, we mentor government providers to be able to provide high quality reproductive health services within their communities.  

 

We also provide limited equipment to these facilities to ensure they are able to provide the services in accordance with the high-quality standards of BLM. To ensure access to the last mile, where there are no government facilities, BLM outreach teams drive long distances across difficult terrain to provide a range of health services, including contraception, Post Abortion Care, HIV services, as well as STI screening and treatment and cervical cancer screening.

 

BLM also partners with National Aids Commission and its partners to ensure access to HIV health care services to key populations in Malawi.
